Got no kids so don't really do xmas and new year is no different to the other 364 midnights in the year, but I fucking love drinking and it's a superb time for getting fucked up for an entire month.

Not religious so don't "do" Xmas, and have never regarded the "New Year" as anything other than just another day.
Don't need an excuse to get pissed, either.
I guess the only plus is that the utter bilge that now passes for TV programmes & programming has a theme for a few weeks.

If there's one thing I'd like banned it's adverts mentioning xmas more than two weeks away from the 25/12. And the same for any chistmassy music on the radio.
We're more than five weeks away from xmas and already it's driving me clean round the twist. For my sanity just shut the fuck up you cynical, greedy cunts.
By the way, I've never liked New Year. What's so special about it? Nothing.

Most of the year moaning and pissing about anything and everything then along come a couple of days to forget that shit and actually enjoy a bit of harmless merry making, I'm not religious so don't do christmas oh di fuck off, it stopped being religiously significant tonks ago. Tell you what let the rest of us enjoy a few days off with friends and family having a pleasant time without having to worry about work and then we can go back to listening to how shit everything is the other 360 odd days of the year.

I like the public holidays and being able to relax and spend time with friends and family, however I absolutely detest the rabid commercialisation of the season. Brands and retailers just see it as a cash cow to milk and to peddle their products on the "plebs" to spend/ waste their hard earned money.
The commercialisation of modern society is a major factor in the consumer debt culture that has developed in recent years.
